Exposition of The Blessed Sacrament

The first Friday of each month from 6 to 7 p.m.

Please come pray with us.

A family united in cultural diversity:

The banners in our Church of the Sacred Heart and in the Mission of St. Mary Magdalene which say: "We are Essential: Free the Mass!", were sent from the Archdiocese to express our solidarity with the Archdiocese of San Francisco and its Archbishop Cordileone, to tell the Public Officials of San Francisco City, return the freedom to celebrate our Masses. We, the Catholics of the Archdiocese of San Francisco, are a united family and as we always say in our Parish of the Sacred Heart, "we are one heart, one community".

Fr. Erick

P. Erick

Welcome to Sacred Heart Parish, a vibrant Roman Catholic community in California's rural West Marin that offers daily Masses in either English, Spanish and sometimes a blend of both, faith formation classes for children,  an open air shrine to Our Lady of Guadalupe, a historical cemetery, and a rental center for special events.

There are two churches within the parish: Sacred Heart Church in Olema and St. Mary Magdalene Mission Church in Bolinas.  Please click on their individual pages for more information on each one and join us whether you're a resident or visitor to the Pt. Reyes Peninsula.

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION

Confession is heard before the 7 p.m. Mass on Saturday and before the 9 a.m. Mass on Sunday, and also, by appointment.

Dear Sacred Heart  Parishioners:

The Archdiocese of San Francisco has established guidelines for the restart of public Masses and we must comply with them for the health of all.

    * All faithful in the Archdiocese of San Francisco are dispensed from the obligation of attending Sunday Mass. Although the faithful are dispensed from their obligation to attend Mass, they must observe the Lord's Day and are encouraged to spend time in prayer on Sunday (such as following a livestream Mass or participating in a spiritual or corporal act of mercy). This also applies to Holy Days of Obligation.

      * Those who are at higher risk of COVID-19 (e.g., those who are older or who have underlying health conditions) are to continue staying at home. Likewise, anyone with a cough of any sort, and anyone feeling ill, should not come to the Church for a visit or for any ceremonies.

Due to the situation, the Church of the Sacred Heart will celebrate "Outdoor Masses" on Sundays and Holy days of Obligation, starting on Sunday June 21, 2020, at the following schedule:

+   9:00 a.m. (English Mass)

+ 11:00 a.m. (Spanish Mass)

The celebrations will not last more than 40 minutes and there will be very limited music.

In attention that only a maximum of 100 people can participate in each Mass, including the Priest, Ministers, Reader and Cantor; parishioners who wish to attend, please call to the Parish office for a reservation before Fridays at 1:00 p.m. (tel.: (415) 663-1139, or send us an email sacredheart@horizoncable.com.

Social distancing protocols will be implemented for seats that will be 6 ft. apart, so we "continue cooperating with the efforts of our public officials to stem the spread of the coronavirus."

All attendees will be required to wear their facemask at all times during service, except for Communion.

You can bring your own chair, if you would feel more comfortable.

Check-in / one entrance north side of Church.

Guidelines to participate in our Outdoor Mass:

* Social Distancing Protocol: 6 ft. "Greet attendees in a way that maintains six feet of separation without physical contact."

* Please check in 20 minutes before Mass starts.

* All attendees will need to sign consent form at the registration table where we will be taking your temperature and making sure your in compliance with your face covering before you get escorted to your seat.

Children must remain seated with parents and cannot run free.

* At the Sign of Peace, the faithful will remain in their places and reverently bow to each other.

* "One-way foot traffic directional patterns"

* The entry and exit will be done in phases, as opposed to everyone moving at once; Attendees shall be dismissed from back to front so that people don't walk past others, and at deliberate pace to help with distancing.

* "Attendees must be required to leave as soon as the service or ceremony has concluded. No continued gathering shall be permitted."

If you are able, and with no underlaying health issues and would like to volunteer for any of these times, please call me at the rectory: (415) 663-9640.

For those who are not able to come to the Church, I invite you to continue attending the Mass through the internet and have Spiritual Communion.

Confessions will be by appointment.

Also, to continue with the Collections, necessary for the financial health of our parish, they can be carried out as follows:
1. By mail:  Sacred Heart Church, PO Box 70, Olema, CA 94950

SPIRITUAL COMMUNION PRAYER

Prayer of St. Alfonso Ligorio:

"I believe, my Jesus, that you are truly present in the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. I love you above all things, and I wish to receive you in my soul. But since now, I cannot receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually to my heart. As if I have already received you, I embrace you and I unite myself to you. Lord, do not let me ever separate from you. Amen".

+   9:00 a.m. (Misa en Inglés)
