Pastoral Guidelines for Sacred Heart Church, Olema, and St. Mary Magdalene, Bolinas. Because of the “Coronavirus “. March 19, 2020.

Dear Parishioners,
I hope you are taking care of yourself since we are in “shelter in place”. We can not say that Masses have been canceled because I’ll be celebrating masses following the guidelines of the Archdiocese. The only thing is that Masses are not open to the public.
In accordance with the guidelines issued by the Archdiocese of San Francisco, and in compliance with the March 17, 2020 ‘shelter in place’ order from the Marin County Department of Public Health, I will be offering mass inside Sacred Heart Church, in private and without parishioners in attendance, at our usual mass times, as follows:  Wednesdays @ 9 am; Saturdays @ 7 pm; Sundays @ 9 am and 10:30 am.  Due to the “shelter in place” order, no one else can be present in the church during the celebration of Mass.

This means that for the time being, and until further notice, there will be no public celebration of Mass; information on current Archdiocese guidelines and relevant Health Alerts (in English and Spanish) can be found here:  sfarch.org/health-alerts

I will be offering intentions at each mass, for the health and safety of each ‘One Heart, One Community’ parish member, and for our faith community-at-large.  Parishioners may find additional comfort in being able to ‘attend’ mass remotely, via the internet; information on live-streamed parish Masses can be found here: sfarch.org/livestreams

Parishioners may want to participate remotely in Pope Francis’ Daily Masses at Casa de Martin, Vatican.  These daily offerings are found on youtube.com; click on the link here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HupXPtokzUo

During these challenging times, and in light of our parishioners’ inability to attend church at this time, I ask that each of you find ways to support the financial health of our parish, by continuing your much-needed weekly ‘collection basket’ donations.  This can be accomplished, as follows:

1. By mail:  Sacred Heart Church, PO Box 70, Olema, CA 94950
2. By online donation using your credit card; click on the following link to register your contact information and select your donation frequency and level.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Yours in Christ,
Father Erick Arauz
Pastor
